Why Net Zero?
Climate Change is not your Fault. But it is our Problem.
Individually, climate change isn't our fault. However it is everyone's problem. As a socially responsible organisation you are in the prime position of being able to make a meaningful impact. But where to start?
Practical steps to Achieve Net Zero.
You've heard of Net Zero, and have understood that to avoid the worst impacts of climate change everyone's carbon budget must be equal to zero by no later than 2040 (by 2030 would be a lot better!). The practical outcome of this is that your organisation needs to:

Where possible electrify your processes and production activities (what's known as Scope 1 emissions);

Establish a zero emissions energy supply (Scope 2 emissions);

Offset your unavoidable carbon emissions (ie. pay a 3rd party to remove your carbon from the atmosphere)

Take responsibility and apply the above to your entire value chain - including suppliers, staff and your products end of life solution (Scope 3 emissions)
Every Journey starts with a single step. And it needn't cost the earth.
While it may seem like a daunting and expensive task, every journey starts with a single step (which is why it's called "Your Journey to Net Zero", an acknowledgement that this will take time). If structured the right way much can be achieved with either a budget neutral, or cashflow positive outcome. The important thing is to start right now.
It is NOT too hard.
